From Wiki:

Enochian is a name often applied to an occult or angelic language recorded in the private journals of Dr. John Dee and his seer Edward Kelley in the late 16th century. The men claimed that it was revealed to them by angels, while some contemporary scholars of magick consider it a constructed language.

Applying the term "Enochian" to the language is a modern convention?not found in Dee's journals. Dee referred to the language as "Angelical", the "Celestial Speech", the "Language of Angels", the "First Language of God-Christ" and the "Holy Language". He sometimes referred to its alphabet as "Adamical" because (according to Dee's Angels) it was used by Adam in Paradise to name all things. Dee also recorded that the Patriarch Enoch had been the last human (before Dee and Kelley) to know the language?thus prompting later scholars to refer to the language and Dee's entire magickal system as "Enochian".

From Thelemapedia:

Enochian magick is a system of ceremonial magick based on the evocation and commanding of various spirits. It is based on the 16th century writings of Dr. John Dee and Edward Kelley, who claimed that their information was delivered to them directly by an angel. They created the Enochian script and the table of correspondences that goes with it. It claims to embrace secrets contained within the apocryphal Book of Enoch.

Enochian magick is a hierarchical system of angel magick centered on the evocation of angelic beings whose names are constructed from several tables of letters using consistent rules of formation.

Enochian magick refers to a large number of letter tables, of which 5 are the most important. These tables include the Watchtowers, a set of 4 12x13 letter tables often referred to the 4 traditional elements, and the Tablet of Union, a 4x5 letter table that is referred to the element of spirit. Together these 5 tables can be assembled into a supertable used in the generation of all the angelic names used in the Enochian system.

Additionally, Enochian magick uses a series of 19 calls written in Enochian for the invocation of the various angelic forces and beings represented within the tablets. The exact use and attribution of each call is somewhat obscure, but most magical groups have some systematic approach to them.

From Answers.com:

The magic incantations used by John Dee and Edward Kelley in the sixteenth century to invoke "angels" or elementary spirits. The Enochian language, in which the calls were spoken, has a consistent grammar and syntax and curiously impressive sound values.

There are 19 Enochian calls or keys. The first two conjure spirits; the next 16 the elements earth, fire, air, water; the nineteenth any of the "30 Aethyrys." The calls were supposed to have been dictated backward to Kelley, as direct communication from the "angels" would have invoked forces that were too powerful.

In 1912 magician Aleister Crowley, in the company of Victor Neuburg, worked a series of magic operations using the Enochian calls. During the midst of these Crowley discovered the principles of what he would later develop into a system of sex magic. He recorded his work in a lengthy article originally published in his journal Equinox and later published a separate book The Vision and the Voice. The writings of Crowley made Enochian magic widely known to twentieth-century magicians, several of whom have developed it as a variation of modern ceremonial magic. Among those who have discovered and utilized Enochian magic is Anton LaVey, who adapted it to his Satanic system as described in his book The Satanic Bible (1969).

Thanks for adding my link! :> This one might be of more interest though http://www.enochian.o... . The main www.enochian.org is more the biz site, and the link /enochian.shtml is the info section...

Enochian is one of those magickal systems which is widely known about, but unfortunately not fully understood by many. The main reason for this is the lack of organization of the original source work, as well as the limited availability of this source work. The Enochian system is basically a large amount of diary notes written down by John Dee and Edward Kelly during skrying sessions. The present work has been written to bring the Enochian system together into something workable by the modern magickian. Throughout this book I use the phrase ?the Enochian system?. In many circles, this phrasing is nearly blasphemous. Many magickal practitioners do not see Enochian as a complete system. Nor do they believe that it is safely practiced without another system to buffer the effects. I believe the reason for these beliefs is that many have only seen a small part of the original source works, the part that has been used by modern ceremonial magick orders. Unfortunately the written aspects of Enochian that are the easiest to access, are also different then the original writings. I believe Enochian to be as complete of a magickal system as that of other modern occult practices. In my opinion Enochian has all of the necessary components to be labeled a ?system? I have worked with Enochian for many years and have found that it works well in of itself, as well as combined with another system.

And here are some of my favorite Enochian internet resources... All of the sites I list here are written by people who have been working and researching Enochian for at least 30 years, and definitely know what they are doing.

For books on Enochian I would recommend:

Geoffrey James Enochian evocation (OOP and expensive but worth it!)
Donald Tyson Enochian magick for Beginners (an advanced book that is good, just skip the chapter on the apocalypse lol)
Pat Zelowski The Enochian magick of the Golden Dawn (He goes into great detail about the original Enochian as well)
Magick Childe A True and Faithful Relation... By Cassabaun (Get the OOP large Hardcover edition, the paperback is only 1/5th of the book)
Joseph Peterson The Five books of Mystery (is one of the original MS transcribed and translated)

I'll post more when I remember them :).
